Seed Keyword

A seed keyword is an initial word or phrase supplied to a research system to generate related query ideas and metrics.

What it means

Google Ads accepts Keyword seeds, URL seeds or both when generating ideas. A seed defines the starting neighborhood of the exploration; it does not validate demand, intent or page fit.

Why it matters

Choosing several precise seeds can expose different audience vocabulary without prematurely narrowing research. The generated ideas still require locale, relevance, intent and existing-page review.

Example

A plumbing company starts with `blocked drain`, `drain cleaning` and a relevant service URL, then validates suggested problems, locations and emergency modifiers separately.

Common mistakes

Do not use one broad seed as the final target list, accept irrelevant generated ideas or forget language and geographic settings. Avoid seeding solely from competitor copy.

Problem AYSA can identify

AYSA can find seeds that are overly broad, unsupported or disconnected from the site's real offering.

Recommendation prepared

The proposal supplies a small documented seed set and the constraints used for idea generation.

Approval preview

The user reviews seed phrases, source URLs, locale and excluded topic boundaries before research runs.

Execution

AYSA can submit approved inputs to connected research tools or prepare an export for manual use.

Verification

AYSA checks generated ideas against the intended scope and records the exact source settings.

Limits

AYSA cannot make a seed relevant merely because a tool returns many related phrases.
