Disavow File
A disavow file is a versioned plain-text document containing one source-URL or domain directive per line for submission to a specific Google Search property.
What it means
URL lines target individual source pages, `domain:` lines request domain-wide treatment and lines beginning with a hash are comments. Updating a property requires starting from its current file because a new upload replaces the prior set rather than appending an invisible delta.
Why it matters
Treating the file as a controlled artifact makes broad directives, deleted entries, property mismatches and accidental wholesale exports visible before an external submission.
