Keyword density
Keyword density is the frequency of a selected word or phrase divided by the page's total word count, usually expressed as a percentage.
What it means
If a phrase occurs five times in a one-thousand-word text, its simple density is 0.5 percent. Tokenization, phrase matching, page regions and tool rules can change the reported value.
Why it matters
The ratio can expose accidental repetition during editing, but Google publishes no universal optimal percentage. Readability, intent satisfaction and accurate information are more defensible decisions than chasing a target density.
Example
An editor sees a service phrase repeated in seven consecutive sentences despite a modest whole-page percentage, so the local repetition is fixed even though the aggregate metric looks acceptable.
Common mistakes
Do not treat two percent as a ranking formula, compare tools with different counting rules or add filler to dilute a number. Investigate the actual sentences and reader experience.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
phrase occurrences, word count, page regions, repetition windows, rendered text
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can flag concentrated repetition and reports that apply an unsupported universal percentage.
Recommendation prepared
The proposal shows the measured context and rewrites only passages that reduce clarity or appear manipulative.
Approval preview
The user reviews counted occurrences, affected excerpts, tool assumptions and proposed language changes.
Execution
AYSA can apply approved copy edits on supported WordPress pages without optimizing toward a fixed density.
Verification
AYSA recounts rendered text and checks that meaning, readability and essential terminology remain intact.
Limits
AYSA cannot derive ranking impact from density or make different tools produce identical counts.
