Indexability Review
An indexability review checks whether important URLs are eligible to be indexed and whether low-value URLs are kept out of the index.
What it means
Indexability review examines status codes, Noindex rules, canonicals, sitemap inclusion, Duplicate content, thin pages, redirects, robots directives and Search Console coverage patterns. It is a governance task, not just a one-time audit.
Why it matters
Indexability review matters because websites often have too many weak URLs and too few strong indexable pages. Good index governance improves crawl quality, topical focus and the chance that search engines choose the right pages.
Example
A glossary term with a useful explanation should be indexable, while a filtered search URL, cart page or empty tag archive should usually be Noindex or excluded from the sitemap.

Common mistakes include adding Noindex pages to sitemaps, canonicalizing valuable pages away, leaving duplicate tags indexable or trying to solve quality problems only with technical directives.
