Google Search Console is a product for verified site owners to inspect how Google Search discovers, indexes and presents their properties and to review supported search-performance data.
What it means
The product groups distinct surfaces such as Performance, page Indexing, sitemaps, enhancements and URL Inspection. Its APIs expose Search analytics, sitemaps, sites and indexed-URL inspection, but neither the interface nor API provides a complete view of Google's internal systems.
Why it matters
Separating the product from individual reports makes each observation traceable and prevents a performance metric from being mistaken for live crawl state or on-site behavior.

An owner verifies a domain property, reviews a page-Indexing issue, inspects one Canonical URL and separately queries Clicks and Impressions by page through Search analytics.
