Indexing report
An indexing report groups observed URL states and reasons showing whether a search engine discovered, fetched, selected or excluded pages within a defined property and observation time.
What it means
Search Console's URL Inspection API exposes the version in Google's index, including verdict, coverage state, robots state, last crawl, fetch state and Google-selected canonical. A report built from these observations is not a live test and its sitemap and referring-URL fields are not guaranteed to be exhaustive.
Why it matters
Keeping indexed evidence separate from current page state prevents stale platform observations from overwriting a live technical diagnosis.

Common mistakes
