Analytics
Clicks
Search Console clicks count qualifying user selections of Google links that lead to the measured property, subject to the behavior defined for each search-result type.
What it means
A click generally records movement from a Google surface to an external page, but expanding a result or using a query-refinement control is not necessarily a click to the site. Property grouping can combine multiple selections from the same property during one query differently from page grouping, and data is normally attributed to Google's selected Canonical URL.
Why it matters
Clicks measure an outbound search interaction before the site loads; they therefore answer a different question from Analytics sessions, which depend on page delivery, consent, tagging, identity and sessionization.
Example
A user selects a canonical product result, returns to Search and selects a different URL from the same property; page grouping can count two page clicks while property aggregation can count one property click for that query.
Common mistakes
Do not equate clicks with sessions or people, include query refinements as site visits, mix paid-ad clicks with organic Search Console clicks, ignore canonical Attribution or infer conversion quality from the click alone.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
property, search type, link type, page dimension, canonical attribution, aggregation, date range
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can detect a click trend compared across incompatible properties, surfaces, dimensions or time windows, or a click-session gap missing collection context.
Recommendation prepared
The review isolates Search Console counting from website delivery and measurement before proposing a snippet, content or technical investigation.
Approval preview
The reviewer sees the source rows, canonical page mapping and exact supported owned-site proposal before authorization.
Execution
AYSA can apply an approved supported WordPress improvement; it cannot alter Search Console history, force user clicks or guarantee traffic.
Verification
Immediate page checks and later Search Console and Analytics observations are recorded separately with their respective delays.
Limits
Clicks are processed and privacy-filtered search interactions, not users, sessions, conversions or evidence that one page change caused the result.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Should Search Console clicks equal organic sessions?
No. A click is recorded on Google's surface, while a session depends on the website loading and Analytics collection, consent, identity and session rules.
Does expanding a search result always count as a click?
No. Search Console counts qualifying links to the external property; expansion and query-refinement interactions can follow different rules.
