Analytics

Search analytics

Search analytics is the analysis of processed organic-search performance rows such as clicks, impressions, CTR and average position grouped by supported dimensions and date ranges.

What it means

Google's Search Analytics API returns rows by keys such as query, page, country, device, date and search appearance. Privacy filtering, aggregation, row limits and omitted dates mean table sums and filtered views may not reproduce every chart total.

Why it matters

Documenting the request and its limits makes comparisons reproducible and prevents an incomplete table from being described as the full search universe.

Example

A query compares mobile Clicks and Impressions for one canonical page in Romania across two 28-day periods, retaining filters, aggregation type and data state.

Common mistakes

Do not sum incompatible aggregations, treat anonymized queries as zero, compare unequal periods, call Average position an exact rank or infer on-site engagement from search Clicks.

How AYSA handles this

Signals reviewed

property, dimensions, filters, aggregation, date range, data state, row coverage

Problem AYSA can identify

AYSA can flag a query comparison with incompatible dimensions, unequal periods, missing filters or unexplained coverage changes.

Recommendation prepared

The review repairs the query contract or requests corroborating page and indexing evidence before an SEO action is proposed.

Approval preview

The user sees the exact query definition and affected owned pages before reviewing a supported change.

Execution

AYSA can run supported analysis and apply separately approved WordPress changes; it cannot modify Google's underlying dataset.

Verification

The same documented query is rerun after the appropriate processing delay and stored as a new observation.

Limits

Search Analytics is processed and filtered, and metric movement alone does not prove cause, user behavior after the click or business impact.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Does a Search Analytics query return every matching row?

No. Google documents internal limits, top-row behavior and privacy filtering, so the returned table is not guaranteed to be exhaustive.

Is average position an exact observed rank?

No. It is an aggregated metric for the selected rows and dimensions.
