LLM discoverability
LLM discoverability is the publisher-side condition in which a resource can be found through documented search, index or retrieval routes used by a declared LLM-mediated product.
What it means
Discoverability begins with the route that can be tested: crawlable web search, a submitted index, an authorized connector or another documented retrieval source. It does not mean the resource exists in model parameters, was used for training or will be selected for a response.
Why it matters
Route-level checks let publishers repair access and metadata they control without making unverifiable claims about a provider's model memory.
Example
A knowledge page is accessible to the documented crawler, included in the correct sitemap and retrievable by the declared search connector, while answer inclusion remains unconfirmed.
Common mistakes
Do not equate Indexing with model training, infer memorization, claim every crawler uses the same corpus, bypass access controls or guarantee response use.
