Entity Enrichment
Entity enrichment adds attributes, identifiers or relationships to an existing entity record from specified sources while retaining how and when each added value was obtained.
What it means
Enrichment can use authoritative catalogues, verified website fields or reviewed extraction. It differs from linking because the entity is already identified; the work expands the record and must resolve conflicts, versions and source priority.
Why it matters
Additional data can improve filtering and retrieval, but unsourced enrichment can make a sparse record look confidently complete. Provenance and field-level review prevent an inferred attribute from silently becoming a published fact.
Example
A product record gains its verified GTIN, material and manufacturer from the current catalogue feed, while a model-suggested colour remains unapproved because no source field supports it.
Common mistakes
Do not overwrite authoritative values with lower-priority sources, label generated guesses as enrichment or discard the timestamp and source that make each attribute auditable.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
target entity, attribute, source record, source priority, review timestamp
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can identify supplied enriched records with missing provenance, unsupported values or conflicts against authoritative website data.
Recommendation prepared
The proposal preserves field-level sources and applies explicit priority and review rules before adding or replacing values.
Approval preview
The user compares current and proposed values, sources, conflicts, affected destinations and rollback scope.
Execution
AYSA can apply approved website or supported owned-catalogue field changes in connected systems.
Verification
AYSA rechecks each applied attribute against its source and validates the rendered or indexed destination.
Limits
AYSA cannot certify an attribute solely because a model generated it or because an external source repeats it.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Is entity enrichment the same as entity linking?
No. Linking identifies a canonical record; enrichment adds sourced data to an already identified record.
Can generated attributes be published as enriched facts?
Only after they are verified against an authoritative source and retain review and provenance information.
