Google Business Profile
Google Business Profile is a Google-managed profile through which an eligible business owner or authorized representative maintains business information shown across Google Search and Maps.
What it means
A profile may expose name, category, address or service area, hours, phone, website, photos and customer interactions, but eligibility requires an appropriate real-world customer-facing operation. Submitted edits can be accepted, rejected or remain pending, and Google can incorporate information from other sources, so profile management is not ownership of the final display.
Why it matters
Separating authoritative business input from Google’s review and presentation prevents unapproved edits, duplicate locations and Keyword-stuffed identity data from being treated as optimization.
Example
A staffed repair shop claims one profile, uses its signed real-world name, selects the most specific valid category, publishes special holiday hours and records whether each approved edit is accepted or pending.
Common mistakes
Do not create duplicate profiles, use a PO box or remote mailbox as a storefront address, expose a service-area operator’s residential address, add services to the name, choose categories as keywords or assume a saved edit is already live.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
profile owner, verification, business type, real-world name, address visibility, service area, category, edit status
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can flag ineligible or duplicate profiles, name stuffing, inaccurate locations, excessive categories and saved edits whose acceptance was never checked.
Recommendation prepared
The proposal changes only owner-confirmed facts, preserves policy evidence and assigns a verification step for every submitted field.
Approval preview
The owner sees exact before-and-after profile values, eligibility basis, permissions, policy risk and expected review status before submission.
Execution
AYSA can submit approved fields through supported authorized connections; verification challenges and Google decisions remain user- and platform-controlled.
Verification
Each edit is checked for accepted, pending or rejected status and reconciled with the public profile and owned location page.
Limits
The evidence is location-, query-, surface- and time-bound; recommendations, generated replies, captures and monitoring do not automatically certify AI Act or legal compliance, and applicable Article 50 duties require a separate role-and-use assessment from 2 August 2026.
