Local SEO
Local pack
A Local pack is an observed Google Search module that presents a map-linked group of businesses for a query interpreted as locally relevant.
What it means
Its labels, number of businesses, controls and surrounding results can vary by query, device, market and time, so “pack” describes the module rather than a permanent three-result format. The businesses and order remain Google-controlled; an audit can record the visible module and destinations but cannot infer hidden weights from one capture.
Why it matters
Module-level evidence prevents website rankings, Business Profile visibility and Maps observations from being merged into one position metric.
Example
A desktop search for “bike repair near Gara de Nord” records the visible map module, business order, sponsored labels, links, language, approximate location and timestamp separately from organic results below it.
Common mistakes
Do not assume every Local pack contains three listings, mix ads with unpaid observations, reuse one screenshot as a national result, omit query context or promise inclusion after a profile edit.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
query, module label, business entries, result order, sponsored status, device, location, timestamp
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can detect screenshots without conditions, paid and unpaid results mixed together, unstable positions treated as facts and module observations attributed to website rank.
Recommendation prepared
The measurement record isolates the Local pack, preserves labels and captures only comparable conditions.
Approval preview
The reviewer sees the full result context, capture conditions, extraction boundary, uncertainty and proposed profile or website actions.
Execution
AYSA can monitor and prepare approved business-controlled changes; it cannot select the businesses Google displays.
Verification
Repeated captures compare the same declared query and context while retaining module composition and missing-result states.
Limits
The evidence is location-, query-, surface- and time-bound; recommendations, generated replies, captures and monitoring do not automatically certify AI Act or legal compliance, and applicable Article 50 duties require a separate role-and-use assessment from 2 August 2026.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Does a Local pack always contain three businesses?
No. Module composition and controls can vary, so record the observed interface instead of assuming a fixed format.
Can a profile edit guarantee Local pack inclusion?
No. Google controls result selection, and local results depend on multiple contextual factors.
