Business Profile
A Business Profile is a public record that describes a business on an identified owned or third-party surface using business facts and available customer actions.
What it means
The generic term can refer to a company directory record, marketplace seller page or platform-managed listing, so the provider and ownership model must be named. Google Business Profile is one specific Google product with its own eligibility, verification, permissions and review processes; a generic profile does not inherit those rules automatically.
Why it matters
Naming the exact platform prevents teams from applying Google fields to other directories, treating a third-party page as owned content or assuming one edit propagates everywhere.
Example
An inventory distinguishes the company’s owned Location page, its Google Business Profile and a chamber-of-commerce directory profile, recording different owners and update methods.
Common mistakes
Do not use Business Profile and Google Business Profile interchangeably, copy unsupported fields across providers, expose private addresses or assume a saved change controls the platform display.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
provider, profile URL, record owner, field, source fact, permission, edit status, last checked
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can flag unnamed providers, conflicting public facts, unsupported field mappings and records whose ownership or update status is unknown.
Recommendation prepared
AYSA identifies the exact surface, authoritative source, responsible owner and provider-specific correction path for each field.
Approval preview
The user sees the provider, current and proposed value, evidence, permissions, platform limitations and expected verification state.
Execution
AYSA can update approved supported owned or connected profiles; it cannot alter an unauthorised third-party record or control provider review.
Verification
AYSA checks the named public profile after submission and records accepted, pending, rejected or externally changed values.
Limits
The evidence remains business-, market-, location-, platform- and time-bound; signals, recommendations, generated drafts, approvals and monitoring do not automatically certify AI Act or legal compliance, and applicable Article 50 transparency duties require a separate role-and-use assessment from 2 August 2026.
