Local Pack Visibility
Local Pack Visibility is the proportion or set of declared Google Search observations in which a business appears inside the observed Local pack module.
What it means
A valid measure defines the queries, approximate search locations, devices, languages, timestamps, module boundary, sponsored treatment and denominator. It excludes standalone Google Maps result lists unless they are reported separately, and it is not an official Google score or a permanent property of the business.
Why it matters
Module-specific coverage prevents Search local-pack observations, Maps appearances, organic positions and profile performance metrics from being collapsed into one misleading visibility number.
Example
A service company appears in 14 of 20 fixed mobile Search observations where a Local pack was present; four absences and two searches without the module remain explicit.
Common mistakes
Do not include Maps application lists, hide searches where no pack appeared, change the denominator silently, merge sponsored entries or describe coverage as a guaranteed market position.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
query, search location, device, language, module present, business present, sponsored status, timestamp
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can detect mixed Search and Maps data, changing denominators, omitted absent modules and proprietary coverage scores without raw states.
Recommendation prepared
AYSA defines one Search-only observation set and a calculation that retains every module, absence, sponsorship and collection state.
Approval preview
The user sees the query set, locations, denominator, module boundary, exclusions, schedule and limitations before measurement.
Execution
AYSA can collect and summarize supported observations; it cannot select the businesses Google displays or guarantee future inclusion.
Verification
AYSA recomputes coverage from raw observation states and blocks comparison when the query set, module definition or geography changed materially.
Limits
The evidence remains business-, market-, location-, platform- and time-bound; signals, recommendations, generated drafts, approvals and monitoring do not automatically certify AI Act or legal compliance, and applicable Article 50 transparency duties require a separate role-and-use assessment from 2 August 2026.
