Local SEO

Local intent

Local intent is an evidence-based classification that a query requires a nearby place, service area or location-specific answer to satisfy the searcher’s apparent need.

What it means

Intent may be explicit through a place name or “near me” wording, or inferred from the result surface and task, but it is not a disclosed Google score. Analysts should preserve the query, language, device, approximate search location, result types and observation time because the same wording can produce different local interpretations.

Why it matters

Contextual classification helps teams decide whether the appropriate destination is a Location page, service-area resource, profile interaction or non-local page without manufacturing city content.

Example

The query “emergency dentist” observed on mobile from central Cluj shows map-linked businesses and clinic pages, so the brief records urgent nearby-service intent rather than treating the phrase as nationally uniform.

Common mistakes

Do not infer local intent from one Keyword modifier alone, omit the search coordinate, copy a result observation across markets, create a city page for every query or call the analyst label a ranking factor.

How AYSA handles this

Signals reviewed

query text, language, device, search coordinate, result module, destination type, observation time

Problem AYSA can identify

AYSA can identify undated local-intent labels, mismatched landing pages and conclusions copied across locations without fresh evidence.

Recommendation prepared

The brief records the observation context, dominant local task, uncertainty and one accountable destination-page decision.

Approval preview

The reviewer sees query and result evidence, coordinate precision, competing page types, proposed mapping and limitations.

Execution

AYSA can update approved keyword maps and owned content; it cannot set Google’s interpretation or reproduce every personalized result.

Verification

The classification is retested under the declared context and compared with the live destination, profile and later performance evidence.

Limits

The evidence is location-, query-, surface- and time-bound; recommendations, generated replies, captures and monitoring do not automatically certify AI Act or legal compliance, and applicable Article 50 duties require a separate role-and-use assessment from 2 August 2026.
