AI search result
An AI search result is the observable output returned for one submitted information need within a declared AI search surface, interface context and capture time.
What it means
The result boundary can include generated text, visible citations, supporting links, media and explicit error or non-result states. Its evidence record must preserve the submitted input, provider, surface, locale, account context, capture time and extraction method. Because responses and links may vary, one result is neither a stable rank nor proof of future presence.
Why it matters
An immutable result record allows later comparisons without overwriting what was actually displayed or confusing interface changes with content changes.
Example
For one Romanian AI Mode query, the record stores the generated response, three displayed links, the absence of an AI Overview, device context and timestamp; a rerun the next day is saved as a new result.
