Link Building

Authority Flow

Authority Flow is a non-standard SEO label whose meaning cannot be determined reliably without a named provider, formula, dataset and URL or domain scope.

What it means

A dashboard may use the phrase for an internal composite, a graph visualization or an informal description of link influence. It must not be assumed to mean Majestic Citation Flow or Trust Flow, Moz authority metrics, Ahrefs URL Rating or Google PageRank. If no methodology exists, the value is not reproducible evidence.

Why it matters

Refusing an invented universal definition prevents hidden formula changes, cross-vendor comparisons and sales claims based on a number nobody can independently interpret.

Example

An imported column named Authority Flow 58 is quarantined until its provider documents page scope, inputs, scale and calculation date; the report retains the raw field but does not use it for placement decisions.

Common mistakes

Do not invent a formula, rename another provider's metric, infer trust or Topical relevance, compare an unknown scale with Citation Flow, use the number as a Google signal, hide missing provenance or promise rankings.

How AYSA handles this

Signals reviewed

raw label, provider, formula, dataset, scale, scope, capture date, underlying evidence

Problem AYSA can identify

AYSA can identify unlabeled imports, undocumented composite scores and attempted substitutions for named provider metrics.

Recommendation prepared

The field remains quarantined until provenance is supplied, or it is replaced with observable evidence and a correctly named metric.

Approval preview

The reviewer sees the original field, missing provenance, possible documented alternatives and the proposed reporting treatment.

Execution

AYSA can preserve or exclude the raw field in an approved report; it does not invent a formula or convert unknown scores.

Verification

Later imports are checked for stable provider, definition and scope before comparisons are allowed.

Limits

Without methodology the value cannot support reproducible conclusions, enforcement claims or ranking predictions.
