Domain Entity

Domain entity is a non-standard modelling label for a domain name treated as a distinct digital identifier with registration, ownership or service relationships.

What it means

A domain can host a website and be controlled by an organization, but those are separate assertions that can change independently. The term is not a Schema.org type or documented Google ranking object.

Why it matters

Conflating domain, site and organization hides migrations, shared hosting and brand portfolios. A company may control several domains, while one domain can redirect or stop hosting the original website.

Example

The record for example.com stores the domain string and its current canonical-site relationship, while the company and WebSite remain separate records with their own identifiers.

Common mistakes

Do not treat domain ownership as proof of every organization claim, merge redirected domains with the destination site record or present Domain Entity as a Google ranking factor.

How AYSA handles this

Signals reviewed

domain, canonical site URL, redirect target, publisher record, mapping version

Problem AYSA can identify

AYSA can flag owned records where domains, websites and organizations are merged or migration mappings are stale.

Recommendation prepared

The proposal separates identifiers and records the current domain-to-site relationship and redirect evidence.

Approval preview

The user sees domain, site and organization records, live HTTP evidence and proposed mapping changes.

Execution

AYSA can apply approved WordPress canonicals, redirects and supported owned-record corrections.

Verification

AYSA checks live redirects, canonicals and rendered site identity after the approved change.

Limits

AYSA does not infer legal ownership from website content and cannot make a domain a Google entity.
