Generative answer
A generative answer is observable answer text produced through a declared generative system for one interaction, with its input context, output boundary and available provenance recorded.
What it means
The object is the answer text, not the entire search result or interface. It may include synthesized language and visible links, but those links are separate citation or source objects. Classification requires provider or deployment evidence that generation occurred; fluent wording alone cannot establish whether text was generated, extracted, templated or manually written.
Why it matters
A bounded output record supports factual review and disclosure decisions without turning appearance or textual similarity into claims about a provider's model.
Example
A capture stores the answer shown for one query, provider and product label, locale, timestamp, visible answer boundary, source links and unavailable internal-generation fields.
Common mistakes
Do not classify text from style alone, merge the answer with the full result page, infer prompts or retrieval traces, treat citations as proof of support, omit variation or promise repeatability.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
provider, product, system declaration, input context, answer boundary, visible sources, timestamp, disclosure state
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can identify unbounded captures, style-based AI claims, missing system context and citations reported as proof of factual support.
Recommendation prepared
The workflow creates a versioned output record and separates answer text, source objects, review findings and unavailable private fields.
Approval preview
The reviewer sees the exact answer boundary, provider evidence, sources, uncertainty, Article 50 applicability checkpoint and prohibited internal claims.
Execution
AYSA can record and review supported public or authorized outputs; it cannot inspect a provider's private model, prompt or generation trace.
Verification
A repeated observation becomes a new record rather than overwriting the original answer and context.
Limits
Output provenance and review do not prove factual correctness and do not automatically certify AI Act or legal compliance.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Can writing style prove that an answer was AI-generated?
No. Classification needs provider, system or deployment evidence rather than stylistic inference.
Is a source link part of the generative answer?
It can be displayed beside the answer, but the source or citation remains a separate observable object.
