Offer schema
Offer schema uses Offer to describe the terms under which a seller provides a product, service or other item.
What it means
An Offer can state price, currency, availability, condition, seller, URL and validity. It is usually connected to a Product rather than used as a replacement for product identity, and AggregateOffer summarizes several offers without representing product variants.
Why it matters
Separating item identity from current commercial terms supports changing price and stock without creating a new product entity. Incorrect currency, expired validity or stale availability can mislead users and break Google feature eligibility.
Example
A Product node keeps a stable SKU while its nested Offer shows EUR price, InStock availability, seller and canonical purchase URL. When stock changes, the authoritative inventory update modifies the visible page and JSON-LD together.
Common mistakes
Do not use AggregateOffer for variants, omit currency where price meaning is ambiguous or leave expired priceValidUntil dates. Avoid publishing Offer data from a cache older than the visible checkout state.
