Price snippet

A price snippet is a displayed price detail in a product search appearance, typically derived from eligible Product and Offer information.

What it means

Price is represented through Offer or a supported price specification with an accompanying currency. Google can also reconcile page markup with Merchant Center data and verifies that the displayed fact reflects the purchasable offer.

Why it matters

Incorrect price data damages user trust and can invalidate commerce enhancements. Variant, member, sale and multi-currency pricing require explicit ownership instead of copying whichever number is easiest to extract.

Example

A Romanian product page exposes 249.00 RON as the active Offer price while a separate EUR URL carries its own canonical and currency. The structured value matches the visible purchase total before shipping.

Common mistakes

Do not include currency symbols inside numeric fields, publish a crossed-out regular price as the active price or reuse one currency across localized URLs. Avoid markup that updates slower than checkout.
