Availability snippet
An availability snippet is a stock-state detail shown in a product search appearance from eligible Offer availability data.
What it means
Schema.org availability values distinguish states such as InStock, OutOfStock, PreOrder or BackOrder. The selected value must describe the offer users encounter and should update with inventory-sensitive pages.
Why it matters
A stale in-stock claim can send users to an unavailable product and create conflicts between Search, the page, Merchant Center and checkout. Fast-changing inventory needs reliable rendering and cache invalidation.
Example
When the last unit sells, the catalog changes the Offer from InStock to OutOfStock, purges the product cache and keeps the page available with an honest restock message.
Common mistakes
Do not encode free text such as 'few left' where an ItemAvailability value is required, publish multiple conflicting states or mark an unavailable variant as globally in stock.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
variant inventory, availability value, visible stock message, feed state, cache age
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can find stale or conflicting availability values and isolate whether catalog mapping, variants or caching caused them.
Recommendation prepared
The proposal binds each URL and variant to one authoritative inventory state with an explicit cache update path.
Approval preview
The user reviews stocked, unavailable, preorder and backorder examples plus expected page behavior.
Execution
AYSA can adjust supported template mappings and cache invalidation after approval.
Verification
AYSA tests inventory transitions and confirms agreement across rendered markup, visible product state and connected feeds.
Limits
AYSA cannot infer real stock when the inventory system is delayed or inaccurate.
