Schema validation
Schema validation is the process of checking structured data for parse errors, vocabulary use and requirements of a specific consuming platform.
What it means
The Schema markup Validator evaluates general Schema.org markup, while Google's Rich results Test checks supported Google search features and their required or recommended properties. A test can pass syntactically even when values conflict with visible content or violate quality policies.
Why it matters
Validation catches malformed JSON-LD, missing properties and unexpected template output before deployment. Combining automated results with a page-content review prevents technically valid but misleading or stale markup from reaching production.
Example
For a product template, test a rendered live URL in the Rich results Test, inspect the same graph in the Schema markup Validator and compare name, price, availability and reviews with visible content. Repeat on in-stock, out-of-stock and variant samples.
Common mistakes
Do not paste only an ideal code fragment when the live page injects additional graphs, or treat warnings and errors as interchangeable. Avoid marking up hidden information, validating one template state and promising a rich result because a tool reports eligibility.
How AYSA handles this
Signals reviewed
Rendered structured-data graph, parser output, required properties, visible page values, feature-specific policy
Problem AYSA can identify
AYSA can distinguish syntax errors, missing Google properties, conflicting duplicate graphs and mismatches with visible page content.
Recommendation prepared
The preview identifies the exact graph and property, cites the relevant consumer documentation and shows the proposed value source.
Approval preview
The user sees a rendered-page validation result, markup diff and representative template states before approval.
Execution
AYSA can update approved JSON-LD on supported WordPress templates; theme, commerce-feed and application-owned graphs may need their native workflow.
Verification
AYSA inspects the deployed rendered graph, reruns appropriate validators and compares marked values with the visible page.
Limits
Validation cannot guarantee rich-result display, rankings or AI citation, and unsupported Schema.org types may have no Google-specific test.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Does passing the Rich Results Test guarantee a rich result?
No. The test checks supported markup and eligibility signals, while Google still evaluates content, policy compliance and whether a feature is appropriate for the query.
